Today, thanks to Zehra’s friend Isabel, we attended a Christmas Eve mass and shared a wonderful meal afterwards. The fellows struggled to keep up with hymns (they were all in Spanish) but enjoyed the service nonetheless. After church, Isabel’s family graciously opened their home to us. Isabel’s grandmother was quite an interesting woman to meet; she is brilliant and extremely well-traveled. After listening to what our organization does, she shared many of her travel stories with us. We filled up on a wonderful dinner prepared by Isabel’s family, and some of our team tried homemade jamaica tea for the first time.
Here is the church where we attended mass.
